Apprentice Chef Rook Card Analysis

Basics To start with the basics, Rook is a SR card. He’s a Defense unit, has a max HP of 12,306, and a max attack of 3,721. His HP is insane, being above the SR and all cards averages. His attack because of that is low, as we all expected. Spells On the spells-side of things, he’s got Flame Blast and Leaf Shot 2 in that order. Exam Rankings For exams, I’d give him a B for flora exams, X for fire, and F for water. Skills This card has power drain. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor power drain on foes for 1 turn. At level 5, it’s for 3 turns. Like a lot of these cards, he has nothing on his spell 2. DUO Magic and Buddies Rook has Cater as a buddy, with a buddy bonus of a modest HP boost. His other buddy is Ortho with a minor power boost. Build Guide To Groovy Rook, you'll need to spend 3 Huntsman Candy after hitting those requirements we talked about earlier. For maxing out his spells, he needs red and green items. I'd build spell 1 first since his skill is on that spell. Sin...

Apprentice Chef Ruggie Card Analysis

Basics Ruggie is a SR Attack unit. His max HP is 8542 and his max attack is 5307. Ruggie's stats are… fine. His HP is below the SR and all cards averages. His attack isn't really that high to compensate, though. It's at the all cards average, so above the SR average. That's fairly decent, although I really have to stress to people just listening that his attack really IS just at the all cards average. That average is 5363 and Ruggie's attack is 5307 so it's just barely off. Spells His spell 1 is Flame Blast and his spell 2 is Leaf Shot 2. Exams Rankings Now let’s talk viability in exams. I'd give this card a B for flora exams, X for fire, and F for water.  Skills For skills, he’s got damage boost. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor damage boost to caster for 1 turn. And at level 5, it’s for 3 turns. He has no skills on his spell 2. Buddy Bonuses His Buddies are Trey with a minor HP boost and Malleus who gives him a modest power boost. Build Guide In order...

Apprentice Chef Malleus Card Analysis

Basics Apprentice Chef Malleus is a SR Defense card with a max HP of 12,969 and a max attack of 3,540. His HP is incredibly good. He's currently ranked 10th in highest HP in SRs and he's been like that for a while now, so that's really nice. Now, because of the high HP, his attack is low. Very low, in fact. He's within the top 20 lowest attack in SRs, but I don't think anyone is super surprised to hear that given how skewed his HP is. Spells His spells are Fire Shot and later Flame Blast, and Water Shot 2. Exam Rankings I’d give him a F for flora exams, B for fire, and X for water when it comes to viability in those exams. Skills Malleus’ skill is resistance, and he has it twice. On spell 1, he starts off with a modest resistance to caster for 1 turn. It doesn't grow at all. On spell 2, Malleus doesn't start off with anything but again, don't think that's really a surprise. He only gets a minor resistance to caster for 1 turn at spell level 5. DUO Ma...

Apprentice Chef Deuce Card Analysis

Basics To start with the basics, Deuce is a SR card. He’s a Defense unit, has a max HP of 12,344, and a max attack of 3,710. I'm just gonna address the elephant in the room first. His attack is atrocious. It's not the lowest attack for an SR unit, but it's still very low. His HP is high because of that as is the way these cards are balanced. His HP is actually closer to the SSR average than it is SR so that's extremely nice. Spells On the spells-side of things, he’s got Forest Strike and Fire Shot 2. Exam Rankings For exams, I’d give him a B for flora exams, X for fire, and F for water. Skills This card has damage cut. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor damage cut to foes for 1 turn. At level 5, it’s for 3 turns, and that's it. He doesn't have anything on spell 2. DUO Magic and Buddies Deuce has Jamil with a modest power boost as a buddy. His other buddy is Sebek with a minor HP boost. Build Guide To Groovy Deuce, you’re gonna need 3 Spade Candy. Spell 1 requ...

Apprentice Chef Jamil Card Analysis

Basics Jamil is a SR Attack unit. His max HP is 7,061 and his max attack is 6,070. His HP is super low, being below both the SR and all cards averages. His attack however, is above both of those averages. He's ranked 28th in highest attack for SRs, so he's just barely missing out on top 25. Spells His spell 1 is Water Shot which later becomes Aqua Wave and his spell 2 is Leaf Shot 2. Exams Rankings Now let’s talk viability in exams. I'd give this card a X for flora exams, F for fire, and B for water. Skills For skills, he’s got damage boost. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a modest damage boost to caster for 1 turn. and that's it. It doesn't grow from there. At level 5 his spell upgrades so yeah I mean, you should build it, but skills-wise nothing happens. Over on spell 2, he starts off with nothing. On level 5, it’s a minor damage boost to caster for 1 turn, so that's something. Buddy Bonuses His Buddies are Deuce with a modest HP boost and Azul who gives him a mi...

Apprentice Chef Lilia Card Analysis

Basics Lilia is a SR Defense unit. His max HP is 11,279 and his max attack is 3,174. Lilia's HP is pretty high, being above the SR and all cards averages. And as you could have guessed, his attack suffers from it. Quite a lot, actually. It's honestly pretty disproportionate. Lilia has the lowest attack stat for an SR, and you would assume because of that, he has the highest HP for SRs. And no, he doesn't. He's not even in the top 10. He has the 34th highest HP for SRs. So yeah um, not a fan of that at all. Spells His spell 1 is Fire Shot and later Flame Blast and his spell 2 is Water Shot 2. Exams Rankings Now let’s talk viability in exams. I'd give this card a F for flora exams, B for fire, and X for water. Skills For skills, he’s got damage cut. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a modest damage cut to foe for 1 turn. And that's it. It doesn't grow at all from there. And there's nothing on spell 2 so congratulations, you're done! Buddy Bonuses His Buddi...

Apprentice Chef Jade Card Analysis

Basics To start with the basics, Jade is a SR card. He’s a Balance unit, has a max HP of 9,309, and a max attack of 5,022. His stats are pretty average. They're under the all card averages, but they're both just barely off from the SR averages so yeah. Average. Spells On the spells-side of things, he’s got Aqua Wave and Void Shot 2. Exam Rankings For exams, I’d give him a X for flora exams, B for fire, and C for water. Skills This card has power boost. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor power boost to caster for 1 turn. At level 5, it’s for 3 turns, and that's as far as it goes. He has nothing on spell 2. DUO Magic and Buddies Jade has Rook and Lilia as his buddies. Rook gives him a minor power boost and Lilia gives him a modest HP boost. Build Guide To Groovy Jade, you’ll need 3 Dorsal Fin candy. For building his spells, his spell 1 needs blue items and spell 2 needs white. I'd build his spell 1 first since that skill DOES upgrade. Comparable Cards Hilariously, a Li...

Apprentice Chef Trey Card Analysis

Basics Apprentice Chef Trey is a SR Attack card with a max HP of 7,142 and a max attack of 5,999. Unsurprisingly, his HP's pretty low. His attack is nice though, being above the SR and all cards averages. Spells His spells are Void Shot which upgrades into Zero Ray and Water Shot 2. Exam Rankings I’d give him a X for flora exams, B for fire, and C for water when it comes to viability in those exams. Skills Trey’s skills are power boost. He's got it twice. On spell 1 at level 1, he starts off with a modest power boost to caster for 1 turn. It doesn't grow at all, On spell 2, he doesn't start off with anything. You only get a minor power boost to caster for 1 turn at level 5. DUO Magic and Buddies For buddies, he's got Kalim, who gives him a modest HP boost. His other buddy is Vil with a minor power boost. Build Guide To Groovy Trey, he needs 3 Club candy. For building his spells, his needs white items for spell 1 and blue items for spell 2. I would build spell 1 firs...

Apprentice Chef Kalim Card Analysis

Basics To start with the basics, Kalim is a SR card. He’s a Defense unit, has a max HP of 11436, and a max attack of 4109. His HP is honestly pretty great. It's way above the SR and all cards averages. His attack IS low because of that, though. Spells On the spells-side of things, he’s got Aqua Wave and Leaf Shot 2. Exam Rankings For exams, I’d give him a X for flora exams, F for fire, and B for water. Skills This card has resistance. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor resistance to caster for 1 turn. At level 5, it’s for 3 turns, and that's it. On spell 2, he's got nothing. DUO Magic and Buddies Kalim has Trey with a modest power boost and Ruggie with  a minor HP boost as his buddies. Build Guide To Groovy Kalim, you’re gonna need 3 Headdress candy. For building his spells, you need blue items for spell 1 and green for spell 2 Unsurprisingly, I'd build spell 1 first. It's got his one skill on it, but also like, that skill IS resistance, which is fairly rare. And...

We Are BACK... Kind of

Hi everyone, just wanted to make a quick update post! I've gotten my ducks in a row and the blog is back open for business! Yay! However, there IS a caveat to this. I'm currently only going to be updating/posting SR and R card analyses. As some of you might know, JP got an update back in March that added a level 120 to SSRs, as well as added buddy bonuses among other things. This was a complete nightmare for me trying to update spreadsheets and stuff. EN has not gotten this update yet, and so far I've been having to future proof my card segments (in addition to making 2 of everything so I'm ready whenever the update comes to EN).  I'm going to be completely honest: I do NOT want to have to go back and fix the affected sections for every single SSR page once the 120 update comes. I think the easier solution is to just have the page reflecting the level 120 info and not post them until that update comes to EN. I also don't want to have posts and have a disclaimer ...

Apprentice Chef Riddle Card Analysis

Basics Riddle is a SR Defense unit. His max HP is 10,525 and his max attack is 4,462. Like I mentioned earlier, Riddle's HP is fairly high, being above the SR and all cards averages. His attack is below both averages. Spells His spell 1 is Void Shot and later Zero Ray and his spell 2 is Leaf Shot 2. Exams Rankings Now let’s talk viability in exams. I'd give this card a C for flora exams, X for fire, and B for water. Skills For skills, he’s got power drain twice. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a modest power drain on foe for 1 turn. That's it. Over on spell 2, he only gets a minor power drain on foe for 1 turn when he hits level 5. Buddy Bonuses His Buddies are Malleus with a minor HP boost and Silver who gives him a modest power boost. Build Guide So to quickly recap Riddle's build, he needs 3 rose candy for groovying, and for spells he needs white and green items. When it comes to what spell to build first, I guess I would go with spell 1. You'll be upgrading that V...

Apprentice Chef Silver Card Analysis

Basics To start with the basics, Silver is a SR card. He’s an Attack unit, has a max HP of 8,164, and a max attack of 5,556. His HP is admittedly a little low, but his attack's solid. It's above the all cards and SR averages. Spells On the spells-side of things, he’s got Flame Blast and Water Shot 2 which later becomes Aqua Wave 2. Exam Rankings For exams, I’d give him a F for flora exams, B for fire, and X for water. Skills This card has absolutely no skills at all. It is SO weird to say that but uh, I guess we'll just move on. DUO Magic and Buddies Silver has Riddle and Jamil as his buddies. Riddle gives him a modest HP boost while Jamil gives him a minor power boost.   Build Guide For groovying, Silver needs 3 Sword candy. H also needs to be power level 30 and vignette level 2 before you're able to groovy him, so that's a thing. For spells, he needs red and blue items. Each spell needs a total of 276 notepads, 253 textbooks, 31 grimoires, and 145,100 Thaumarks in...
