Playful Attire Ace Card Analysis

Basics

Ace is a SSR Balance unit. His max HP is 12,650 and his max attack is 6,460. Ace's stats are above the all cards averages and pretty much at the SSR averages. If we wanna get technical, they're just under, but like, it's barely off by a couple points. It's really nothing.

Spells

His spell 1 is Forest Strike, his spell 2 is Leaf Shot 2 which later becomes Forest Strike 2, and his spell 3 is Water Shot 2.

Exam Rankings

When it comes to exams, I'd give this card a C for flora exams, F for fire, and S for water.

Skills

For skills, he’s got HP restoration, power drain, and damage boost. On spell 1 at level 1, he has a minor HP restoration. At level 5, he gets a minor power boost to caster for 1 turn, and nothing happens at level 10.
On spell 3, he starts off with a minor damage boost to caster for 1 turn. At level 5, it’s modest, and at level 10 it’s major.

DUO Magic and Buddies

His DUO Magic Partner is Vil, who gives him a modest power boost and nullify curse. His other Buddies are Silver and Azul with a minor HP boost.

Build Guide

In order to Groovy Ace, you'll need 5 Heart Candy. For spells, he needs green and blue items. Keep in mind though because he's got 2 flora spells, you'll be using a LOAD of green items. And when it comes to what to build after unlocking DUO Magic, I would go with spell 1 simply because you can get an additional skill on that spell and also it IS easier to build than spell 3.

Dupes + Alternatives

So if you don’t manage to get Playful Attire Ace, what are some alternative units? My first pick is Birthday Jacket Riddle. They're balance, have a flora spell 2, water spell 3, Azul as a buddy, power drain, and damage boost. Riddle's biggest cons are no healing and he can't be mono flora, although he DOES have a void spell 1 so that's somethnig, at least. Overall, Riddle is a fairly close card to Ace, but he does have some pretty massive caveats.
Next is Platinum Jacket Kalim. They're balance, have flora and water spells, Vil as a DUO magic partner, HP restoration, and power drain. Kalim, like Riddle, also has a void spell so while it's not the end of the world... he can't be a mono flora unit so that does suck. But still, he's a super great option for replacing Ace, ESPECIALLY if you needed a healer for a Vil team.
Our first budget option is Twilit Fit Jack. He's for Forest Strike, Water Shot 2, Vil as a buddy, HP restoration, and power drain. So yeah, although he's not a mono flora unit, super great budget version of Ace.
And finally, we have PE Uniform Epel. He's balance, mono flora, and has HP restoration. He unfortunately doesn't share a buddy with Ace but ultimately is a great pared-down version of him. That being said... I do think Jack is my favorite budget option. He might not have two flora spells, but I think he hits more notes than Epel does and overall, is closer to Ace than Epel is.

Teammates

So, potential teammates for Ace. Dorm Vil gives Ace a buddy bonus and can be his DUO Magic partner. He can get buddy bonuses from Dorm Silver and Dorm Azul. Ace will give Nightmare Courier Cater and School Uniform Sebek a buddy bonus, but he doesn't get anything from them. He also gives Dorm Deuce a buddy bonus, and can activate his DUO Magic.

Final Thoughts

Admittedly, I don't have this Ace, but I do use him a fair amount as a guest unit. I have a few friends on JP that have him, and when the stars align I use him. I mostly use him with Dorm Vil, but my Dorm Vil isn't maxed out so I only use him in lower-level battles but still. I love that this Ace is mono flora, I love that he has healing. Although his stats are just average, he works pretty well for me personally as someone who uses a lot of Vil and Silver cards.
